Cloudmark Spotlights DNS Threats at Interop

Cloudmark, Inc., a trusted leader in intelligent network security, today announced that Senior Director of Engineering and Threat Research Angela Knox will provide an in-depth overview of DNS (domain name system) threats at Interop Las Vegas. Knox will also highlight best practices for identifying DNS vulnerabilities and safeguarding an organization's infrastructure.

What:

Barbarians at the DNS: How to Safeguard Against Attacks

Who:

Angela Knox, senior director of engineering and threat research, Cloudmark (News - Alert)

Where:

Interop (News - Alert) Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Lagoon K

When:

Thursday, May 5, 2016, 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. P.T.

Session Details:
DNS is a critical component of the internet and many private networks. However, since standard security measures do not block DNS traffic, cybercriminals are able to infiltrate networks and gain access to proprietary data. In addition to launching attacks, cybercriminals can also exploit an organization's DNS to cause outages.

In this session, Angela Knox will examine DNS threats and their potential impact, including DNS ID hacking, DNS spoofing and cache poisoning, as well as highlight best practices for identifying DNS vulnerabilities. Attendees will learn how to better safeguard their organization's infrastructure.

Examining Phishing and Business Email Compromise Threats at Interop
Cloudmark executives will also be available at Interop to discuss trends in messaging threats such as spear phishing and emerging email threats. Spear phishing attacks continue to increase, resulting in significant financial losses and the disclosure of sensitive personal and financial information. The FBI recently issued an alert warning about a dramatic increase in business email compromise (BEC) scams. According to the FBI, from October 2013 through February 2016, law enforcement received reports of BEC scams from 17,642 victims amounting to more than $2.3 billion in losses.

Cloudmark, which launched an anti-phishing solution earlier this year, can discuss new and emerging spear phishing threats such as BEC, as well best practices for identifying and preventing such attacks. The company's solution - Cloudmark Trident - delivers unique capabilities for detecting and blocking BEC attacks to prevent loss of revenue or data, damage to customers and employees, and negative impacts on a brand's reputation. To schedule a demo of Cloudmark Trident (News - Alert) at Interop, please email [email protected].
