Alliant Technologies Appoints Solomon Viera As Vice President, Transition Engineering


MORRISTOWN, N.J., April 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Alliant Technologies announced today that Solomon Viera, former Vice President of Information Technology, Enterprise Applications at Xerox and Director of Enterprise Systems and Retail Technology Implementation for Weight Watchers International, has joined Alliant as Vice President, Transition Engineering. As Alliant continues to reinvent the IT industry, the company welcomes the insight Viera brings from his years spent with the customer perspective of what global IT Infrastructure should be.

As Vice President, Transition Engineering, Solomon Viera will play a critical role in executing the vision and growth of our IT Infrastructure utility; one in which Alliant's customers do not have to worry about their IT infrastructure. Viera will oversee all promotion to production within lliant's ITIL-aligned utility for global IT infrastructure. Alliant's Transition Engineering organization currently installs, repairs and refreshes IT infrastructure at customer facilities and data centers in 36 countries and 47 states.



With the addition of Viera, Alliant has three great leaders to run their ITIL-aligned engineering practices. Jeff Cohn, Alliant's Vice President, Design Engineering, will lead the continued development of industry changing, proprietary Reference Architectures, which Alliant has pioneered within the IT industry. In this role, Cohn leverages the years of experience gained from leading Cisco's field engineering team for the state, local, and education (SLED) sector.  Doug Place, former Verizon Vice President of Global Network Infrastructure Operations Management has also recently joined Alliant to lead their Operations Engineering practice and global Network Operations Center (NOC). At Alliant, Place has the opportunity to build and operate the networks he has always envisioned.
