Tenth Street Entertainment Announces: Sixx:A.M. Call Out YouTube: "Don't Be Evil"

LOS ANGELES, April 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, rock band Sixx:A.M., featuring Nikki Sixx, Dj Ashba and writer/producer James Michael, called via an open letter for Google's YouTube service to examine its unfair payment practices for music.

We chose today to speak up about how YouTube unfairly pays artists and labels an estimated 1/6 of what its competitors, Spotify and Apple, pay and why this must be addressed, along with a revision of the antiquated Safe Harbor provision of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

The complete text of the letter was posted on the band's Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/sixxammusic/posts/1102033803176407

Adds Chris Nilsson, President of the band's management company, Tenth Street Entertainment:

Tenth Street has a long history of supporting artists' rights, so it is only natural we dedicate all our resources to supporting our client Six:A.M's statement regarding YouTube today.  Almost 70% of our planet may use Google to seek information, but no voice is louder or more clear than artists when they unite.  Don't Be Evil, Google.  Do The Right Thing.
