WeHeal.org Launches CrowdHealing Website

LOS GATOS, Calif., April 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Every day millions of people around the world are diagnosed with devastating diseases and are forced to try and figure out what to do on their own, each person reinventing the wheel as they go. The information they receive is usually limited, overly complex, and most are overwhelmed and left feeling hopeless.  www.WeHeal.org, intends to change all of that by bringing patients together to support each other and to share their experiences and knowledge about treatment options. According to Eric Drew, Founder of the Eric Drew Foundation and WeHeal.org, "WeHeal.org is the world's first CrowdHealing movement. Putting the knowledge and decision making power back into the hands of patients and engaging them to work together, to heal together."

In 2002, Eric Drew was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and given a terminal prognosis.  His health care providers told him there were no available medical treatments that could cure him.  Given but a few monts to live and faced with little guidance and even less support Eric refused to give up and through relentless research and outreach, he found a clinical stem cell study that saved his life.

Eric Drew's ordeal showed him that there was an urgent need for a patient advocate and resource center where patients could find a community of others fighting the same fight regardless of the diagnosis. This was the beginning of WeHeal.org, which, after 14 years of research and development, is now a reality.

Visitors to WeHeal.org will find that it is a one stop patient information source, complete with; disease indexes, a patient strategy and resource center, and an area for the recently diagnosed. It also features WeHeal.org Communities which provide a forum for patients to enter a dialogue with other patients with a similar diagnosis to discuss what has worked for them and what has not and to offer information about alternative treatments as well as active and recruiting clinical trials.

"I know, first-hand, how difficult and challenging it can be to find treatment information.   If we can engage patients and their families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals around the world to share their stories, our CrowdHealing movement will revolutionize the way illnesses are treated. We know WeHeal.org is still in its early stages of development, we expect to soon to be helping thousands, and someday millions of people," says Drew.

Eric Drew is asking for anyone dealing with a chronic illness to consider participating in WeHeal.org as an information contributor, supporter, or moderator.  For more Information, please visit www.WeHeal.org
