Telecommunications Veteran Andrew Kurtzman Joins Virtual, Inc. as Vice President and Staff CounselVirtual, Inc. He will serve as Vice President and Staff Counsel, reporting to Greg Kohn, Virtual's Executive Vice President. Notably, he spent 14 years as Vice President, General Counsel and Board Secretary for the Telecommunications Industry Association (News - Alert) (TIA), the fourth-largest ANSI standards development organization in the U.S. In hi role there, Kurtzman oversaw numerous IPR-related projects, participated in lobbying efforts, and contributed to the overall strategic direction of the organization. Most recently, Kurtzman served as Executive Director and General Counsel for the Muni Broadband Forum (News - Alert), a non-profit lobbying organization with a mission to remove restrictions preventing municipalities from developing their own broadband networks. Earlier, before TIA (News - Alert), he held a number of different roles in the non-profit and IT sectors. Kurtzman has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from the Washington College of Law.
