Ittiam Systems to Demonstrate VP9 Solutions at NAB 2016


Ittiam Systems, the leading provider of advanced media technology and solutions to the Online Media Creation and Consumption markets, will be demonstrating Live VP9 4K Encode for Broadcast targets and other Decoding solutions optimized for Mobile targets at NAB 2016. In related news, Ittiam announced that it has joined the Alliance for Open Media and will be contributing to efforts to develop a next generation, royalty-free video codec.

The Alliance for Open Media was founded in 2015 by industry leading companies focused on developing next-generation media formats, codecs and technologies. With the founding members consisting of Amazon, Cisco, Google, Intel (News - Alert), Microsoft, Mozilla and Netflix, one of the first projects of the alliance is to pursue an open and royaltyfree video format for next-generation Ultra High Definition (UHD) media streaming.



Ittiam has extensive expertise in developing class leading implementations of several generations of media standards and has been at the forefront of delivering advanced video products and solutions. With a worldwide customer base of over 400 companies, including many of the founding members of the Open Media Alliance, Ittiam has enabled rapid adoption of new technologies. Ittiam will be demonstrating its VP9 solutions at the upcoming NAB 16 show, in Booth SU14213.
