ACT-IAC Announces 2016 Igniting Innovation Awards Top 40 Finalists

The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC (News - Alert)), the premier public-private partnership in the government IT community, today announced the Top 40 finalists for the Igniting Innovation 2016 Showcase and Awards event. In addition, Aaron Snow, Executive Director of the General Services Administration's 18F, will serve as a keynote speaker.

The nomination process attracted 147 submissions - a new record, reflecting a diverse pool of solutions, tools, services and programs developed by government and industry leaders to address some of the government's biggest IT challenges. A panel of judges, comprised of government and industry IT leaders, evaluated the nominations and selected the Top 40 finalists. The Top 40 finalists represent a broad range of IT innovations developed by government agencies, private industry, and government-industry partnerships at the federal, state and local government levels. The Top 40 will exhibit their solutions at the Igniting Innovation Showcase and Award event on April 25, 2016 at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C.

"We are honored to recognize the imaginative ways that these finalists are revolutionizing government services to citizens and program operations," said Mike Howell, Senior Director, Institute for Innovation. "This year's Showcase will highlight innovative programs that are tackling government's most challenging IT issues, from providing new digital services to increasing efficiency by saving time and cutting costs."

Government and industry IT professionals are invited to join members of ACT-IAC at the Igniting Innovation Showcase and Awards event. Register today and view the list of 2016 Igniting Innovation Top 40 Finalists at https://www.actiac.org/events/igniting-innovation-2016.

The Top 8 finalists, who will be selected by social media voting during the April 25th Showcase and Awards event, will gain national exposure through live presentations to a judging panel and to IT executives, influencers and media. Following their presentations, social media voting will take place again to select the one overall Igniting Innovation award winner. Additional "Dynamite" awards will be awarded by a panel of onsite judges in the following categories: most disruptive; most transformative; greatest magnitude of impact; and best incubator.

The social media voting tool will be downloadable to all pre-registered attendees and those at the event. Attendees can also access the voting tool through on-site terminals.
