Percipient Networks Names Joel Silberman as Senior Vice President of Business Development and StrategyPercipient Networks today named seasoned cyber-security executive Joel Silberman as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. In his new role, Silberman will focus on the commercialization of the company's flagship product, Strongarm, a cloud-based threat intelligence solution based on technology developed at The MITRE Corporation (News - Alert). Silberman is a globally respected network security business development professional with more than three decades of technical, strategic and product innovation experience. He most recently served as Vice President of Sales for the CloudShield product portfolio at LookingGlass Cyber Solutions Inc., where he created the partner strategy for the organization, built the initial channel program, and mentored members of the sales team. Silberman joined LookingGlass as part of their acquisition of CloudShield in early 2015. Earlier in his career, Silberman held executive positions at Crossbeam Systems (acquired by Blue Coat), Optenet (acquired by Allot Communications), Raytheon (News - Alert), and Entegrity Solutions. Silberman's success at these organizations was built on developing win-win customer relationships and driving sales gains for customers and partners. At Percipient, Silberman will be developing the go-to-market strategy for Strongarm, an IT security solution that protects businesses from malware to safeguard their data and intellectual property. Strongarm is designed to be cost effective and easy to deploy so that even small- and mid-size businesses with more limited security resources can get the same level of protection as government and large enterprises. "Strongarm identifies security threats and helps businesses figure out how to respond, fix, and recover from threats and breaches. I'm excited to help guide the company's strategic vision for commercializing this technology, and look forward to showing the market what we have to offer," said Silberman. Strongarm is a DNS blackhole that intercepts and identifies malware communications on networks. By redirecting malicious "command and control" traffic to the blackhole, Strongarm is able to maintain a connection with the malware, allowing for automated identification and remediation, as well as the harvesting of threat intelligence in order to help improve a company's understanding of the adverary. The solution prevents malware that may find its way into a network from extracting IP, impacting network performance, or doing harm to a company's reputation and customers. "We are pleased to welcome Joel to Percipient, which is well-positioned to offer mid-sized businesses a sophisticated and effective technology solution, as this market has been largely underserved by today's cyber-security industry," said John Serafini, Chief Executive Officer for Percipient, who also serves as Senior Vice President at its parent company, Allied Minds. More information about Percipient Networks and Strongarm can be found at strongarm.io. Percipient Networks is a subsidiary of Boston-based Allied Minds (LSE: ALM).
