OMVS: Trucking Firm Could Build Revenue, Give Way to Beta-Test Shared Economy App

As On the Move Systems (OMVS) continues due diligence on acquiring a small trucking operation, the company believes the move would not only allow it to expand its revenue base, but provide a solid proving ground for its upcoming "Uber-for-Trucking" platform.

OMVS reports design work continues on the revolutionary app. This platform promises to change the way truckers do business as far as optimization, scheduling and networking by utilizing the growing power of the shared economy.

Shared economy companies like Uber, Airbnb, Snapgoods and Fon have pioneered a new business model that has forever altered the way many Americans bu, sell and trade goods and services. OMVS intends to do the same thing in the trucking and logistics industry. Having its own trucking company to beta-test and refine the service in-house before it goes live would be advantageous.

"A trucking company of our own would offer several key benefits," said OMVS CEO Robert Wilson. "As far as the online platform goes, we would have the perfect testing ground to ensure it can meet and exceed the exacting demands of the marketplace. In addition, the trucking firm would generate additional revenues to support the company and its continued expansion."

Recent reports indicate the market for trucking is strong, giving support to OMVS's acquisition plans. The shared economy is similarly booming, as analysts estimate theĀ total market for shared economy services to be $450 billion.

OMVS's proposed new trucking firm would allow the company to compete alongside Con-way Freight (CNW), SAIA Inc. (SAIA) and Old Dominion Freight Lines (ODFL).
