The event raised $3.1 million for St. John's University School of Risk Management, which was a record breaker.

"The benefit of this dinner is very direct, 100% of the proceeds go to students of St. John's, graduates and undergraduates," said Brandon Sweitzer, dean, St. John's University School of Risk Management. "Also, part of the proceeds goes to support the career center, which is unique, among schools of our kind in providing jobs and partnerships for our students, while they are both undergraduates and graduates, as they go forward into the workforce."

"It is a great honor coming from the industry … a humbling experience and recognition by your peers. It is also recognition of what the leaders at Fairfax have done," said Watsa.
