School Choice Supporters Unify for Press Conference in Augusta on 1/25Students, parents, teachers, and community leaders will gather in Augusta (News - Alert) to show unified support for quality school choices for Maine families on Monday, January 25, organizers announced today. The event, which will take place at 2 p.m. in the Maine State House Hall of Flags, will feature student and parent speakers representing public charter schools, private schools, homeschooling organizations, and virtual schools. The goal of the rally is to show unified support for school choice in Maine and to raise awareness among parents about the school choice options available to families across the state. The rally is timed to coincide with National School Choice Week (January 24-30, 2016), which will be America's largest-ever celebration of opportunity in education, featuring more than 16,000 events nationwide.
