Conference to Focus on the Growing API Economy

Norwalk, Conn. -- January 14, 2016 TMC (News - Alert) today announced a new conference and exhibition, "All About the API." The four-day event will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada at Caesar's Palace Conference Center July 18-21, 2016, and focuses on the language of the interconnected ecosystem of technology solutions, services, apps and platforms that are already powering the workplace and personal lives.

All About the API will feature nightly hackathons, daily conference sessions, keynotes, API library workshops, an integration playground, demonstrations, competitions, and an exhibition hall.  The event also marks the introduction of the API Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet, including the debut of the APIe Awards, presented in a variety of categories ranging from API of the Year, Developer of The Year to Integration of the Year and more.

"Name any company you've heard of and they are likely exposing the internal workings through an API," said TMC CEO Rich Tehrani (News - Alert). "They are doing this because they have to."

APIs provide common specifications that define how platforms, software, applications and services of a company can be used by developers to provide an array of new and enhanced customer solutions. A majority of today's most popular apps - and any that rely on external data - leverage APIs to pull and deliver current data to users.  These third-party integrations allow data and service providers to build ecosystems that position themselves as service and data repositories or hubs, on which other developers rely to enhance their own applications.

All About the API will feature tracks and content surrounding multiple areas of focus, including BizTech, EdTech, FinTech, MedTech, TravelTech, MobileTech, MilitaryTech, GovTech, Telecom, Connected Home, Gaming, DevOps, Connected Car, Mobile Marketing, Wearables, Collaboration, Messaging, CyberSecurity and the Enterprise.

"Each year, Apple, Android, Amazon, Cisco, Citrix, Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, Google, IBM (News - Alert), Microsoft, Oracle, SalesForce, SAP, Twilio and just about any other company that is ecosystem- and integration-centric releases new and updated APIs," added Tehrani. "These companies, and thousands of others, make it easy for developers, engineers, programmers and product teams to quickly and easily access libraries of code. In turn, they have created a whole industry of customers who are making decisions that affect platforms, applications and the experiences millions of customers experience every day."
