CTA's Glenda MacMullin Receives Women in Consumer Technology Legacy AwardThe Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™ , formerly the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, today announced that Glenda MacMullin, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, CTA, received the Women in Consumer Technology 2016 Legacy Award. The 7th Annual Women in Consumer Technology Legacy Awards Networking Reception and Award Ceremony was held last night at CES (News - Alert)® 2016. Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association, CES is the world's gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology and will run through January 9, 2016 in Las Vegas, NV. MacMullin was recognized for her service and accomplishments in the consumer technology industry as well as her leadership skills and commitment to the advancement of women. Bringing more than 25 years of experience in accounting and financial management, MacMullin's responsibilities at CTA include management of information technology, building operations, human resources, legal services, membership and the CTA Foundation along with the financial services of the association. "Glenda's strong mentoring and management skills, focus on competence and dedication to the industry have earned her enormous respect from all whom she interacts with at CTA and beyond," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Technology Association. MacMullin began her career at CTA in 2004 as chief financial officer. In 2006, her responsibilities were extended to oversight of all building operations. Additionally, she became responsible for overseeing the contract and legal operations of the association. In 2007, MacMullin began managing the information technology team, and in 2008, the human resources department. In 2012 MacMullin was promoted to chief operating officer for CTA. MacMullin joins several other CTA staff who have received this prestigious award in past years. In 2010, Karen Chupka, senior vice president, CES and corporate business strategy for CTA, was recognized by Women in CE for her outstanding work in the industry and in 2014 CTA's Deb Kassoff, director, member programs was recognized for her volunteer efforts as recipient of the Carol Campbell Inspiration Award. Currently roughly half of CTA's senior staff and vice presidents at CTA are women. CES 2016 also featued two prominent female keynoters this year with Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors and Ginni Rometty, chairman, president and CEO of IBM (News - Alert) both taking the stage yesterday.
