Kaazing WebSocket Intercloud Connect Launches on Microsoft Azure

Kaazing, chief contributor to the WebSocket standard, today announced the launch of Kaazing WebSocket Intercloud Connect (KWIC) on the Microsoft (News - Alert) Azure Marketplace. With the general availability of KWIC on Azure, enterprises can now get instant, secure, application-to-application connectivity over the Web without the need for a VPN and without the need to re-architect or rewrite applications.

Azure focuses on seamlessly connecting enterprise data centers to the cloud within the Azure framework and makes KWIC a very attractive offering. With KWIC, customers can radically simplify the connectivity between their applications, whether they're deployed on-premise, in the public or private cloud, or any combination thereof. KWIC, a very light-weight alternative to VPN, was designed to meet the highest security standards, and specifically scoped to certain applications and protocols. Because of the small footprint and flexibility of KWIC, customers can easily lay out arbitrary topologies, including one-to-one and one-to-many. Additionally, organizations deploying KWIC can completely shut down all the inbound ports of their enterprise and cloud firewalls, significantly reducing the attack surface.

"We are excited to provide Microsoft Azure customers with an enterprise-class tool that quickly and securely connects their on-premise services to Azure," said Bob Miller, CEO, Kaazing (News - Alert). "Whether on-premise-to-cloud, or cloud-to-cloud, our customers have been seeking a cost effective connectivity option that does not require punching holes in firewalls, establishing VPNs or procuring leased lines. At a fraction of the cost, KWIC provides this secure connection in minutes. For ne of our large customers, this time savings represented an 8-fold improvement in time-to-value."

KWIC for Active Directory is available now. This is the first of many cloud-to-on-premise secure solutions that will become available from Kaazing on Azure Marketplace.

"A hybrid cloud architecture on Microsoft Azure is a common deployment type we see," said Nicole Herskowitz, Senior Director of Product Marketing, Microsoft Azure. "Often, due to strong regulatory or enterprise specific requirements, customers need some services to remain on-premises, and offering an easy way to connect these services to Azure is valuable."
