Mobeewave Receives Industry Recognition for Secure, Open Payment Acceptance via Mobile Device

Mobeewave and partner Oberthur Technologies won "Best Mobile Security Solution" at Cartes Secure Connexions' SESAMES Awards in Paris, France, on November 17, 2015, beating all other finalists in the category. This ground-breaking solution allows any user of a smart mobile device to receive cashless payment from any contactless card or mobile wallet, in an open, but highly secure environment. Leveraging mobile devices' near field communication (NFC) capability, Mobeewave's widely patented technology enables and secures the transaction within the device, making it a matchless solution for transforming a mobile wallet into a "true wallet," and power adoption by consumers.

"This SESAMES Award is a great honour," said Benjamin du Haÿs, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mobeewave. "It recognizes that Mobeewave is the best solution for mobile device OEMs. With our industry-leading security, only Mobeewave can address consumer concerns about the protection of their sensitive information and pave the way to full adoption of OEM payments services."

In 2015, Mobeewave's solution has been successfully tested with consumers in pilots at Canadian charities and universities. With support from major industry players, the company has assessed the end-to-end user experience, demonstrating that Mobeewave is both technically viable nd accepted by consumers. With this market data, and growing traction, Mobeewave is preparing to launch in the early part of 2016.

The time is right for the Mobeewave solution, say company executives, because the world is evolving rapidly towards a cashless society, fuelled in part by the explosive growth of the sharing economy. "It's clear that displacing cash brings the most value to the most players in the payment ecosystem," said Vincent Alimi, Mobeewave's Chief Technology Officer-Payment, who was in Paris to receive the SESAMES Award. "But mobile wallets are not sufficient to achieve this. By only giving users the cash-out mode, they're mere half solutions. Mobeewave adds the cash-in mode, allowing users to accept any contactless payment, with full security," explained Alimi.

The world's most innovative companies in secure payment, identification, and mobility compete for the SESAMES Awards, which are judged by an international panel of top industry experts. The awards ceremony is held annually during CARTES Paris [http://www.cartes.com], the premier security conference and exhibition in Europe covering mobile payments.
