Kim Kardashian West Discovers Options for Vaginal Delivery of Breech Baby From Documentary 'Heads Up' by LA-Based Celebrity Prenatal GuruLOS ANGELES, Dec. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- This week, Kim Kardashian West revealed that she is trying "anything" to turn her baby and avoid a Cesarean delivery, writing on her blog that the documentary Heads Up: The Disappearing Art of Vaginal Breech Delivery had opened her eyes to the option of vaginal delivery of her breech baby.  "I found it very interesting that I do have this option to deliver a breech baby as opposed to just jumping into a C-section," Kardashian West wrote on her blog, after watching Heads Up. "Obviously, if it's an emergency and for the safety of my son, I will get a C-section — bt if I don't need one, I'd rather not." About four percent of full-term babies are in a breech (not head-down) position, and for the vast majority of those women and babies, the prescription is an "automatic C-section"—with the risks that accompany major abdominal surgery for the mother and an earlier, possibly riskier delivery for the baby. According to Dr. Berlin, most new obstetricians are never trained in delivering breech babies vaginally, even though the current position of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is that vaginal delivery can be a reasonable option for breech births. "This whole delivery gives me anxiety, not gonna lie," Kardashian West wrote. "I hope the baby turns and all goes well but I'm prepared for anything!"
