"Fujifilm is continuously innovating to achieve greater patient safety, gentler dose, higher image quality for radiologists, and effortless exams for technologists," said Rob Fabrizio, director of marketing and product development, Digital x-ray and Women's Health, FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. "We are proud to present our latest unparalleled DR portfolio along with two exciting, new products designed to support unique advances in imaging for today's busy facilities."

Following is a summary of new offerings to be unveiled at RSNA 2015:

Fujifilm's next generation complete X-ray room system, the FDR Visionary Suite* was designed to deliver optimized imaging workflow while improving diagnostic capabilities. A flexible fully automated system, technologists and clinicians can choose the ideal imaging method for each exam by selecting from a broad range of easy-to-use advanced applications including tomosynthesis, energy subtraction, and long view imaging-giving facilities the tools they need to better support challenging exams and diagnosis. The system's automated features, coupled with Fujifilm's advanced cesium iodide (CsI) detectors and unique image processing enhance positioning repeatability and workflow while optimizing image quality and diagnostic visibility for challenging views and fine detail exams.

Fujifilm will also introduce its FDR D-EVO GL the world's first long length DR detector. Designed to acquire long-length radiography for scoliosis imaging and/or long leg exams with a simple, low dose, fast, single exposure. Featuring a huge 17 x 49" field of view, the FDR D-EVO GL saves time, enhances efficiency, image quality and dose for upright long-length radiography exams. While conventional DR systems require multiple exposures, increasing acquisition time, chances for movement between exposures and radiation to the patient. The FDR D-EVO GL complements its single exposure acquisition with ISS technology and noise reduction circuitry to uniquely contribute to producing clear, sharp images at a low dose.

Additional offerings include

Fujifilm's latest and most innovative line of digital radiography detectors, FDR D-EVO II, will be on display at the event. Available in full size 14x17" and 17x17", and 24x30cm. FDR D-EVO II detectors feature advances in design and functionality that deliver higher performance in every way. D-EVO II detectors are ultra-lightweight and durable, with a magnesium alloy case and a sleek smooth shape that simplifies positioning under patients. Inside, its electronics have been re-engineered to enhance dose efficiency and improve diagnostic image quality at ultra-low dose levels. The detector's advanced internal memory function stores up to 100 images to allow easy sharing with any x-ray source. D-EVO II is the world's first detector protected with a Fujifilm exclusive engineered antibacterial coating, they are IPX-6 water resistant to prevent damage from fluids and wipe downs and currently the lightest detector with replaceable battery.

A cutting-edge image processing tool from Fujifilm will also be showcased at RSNA. Virtual Grid intelligently adapts contrast to improve image quality for exams acquired without a grid. With the ability to customize its emulated grid characteristics, Virtual Grid provides exam flexibility and reduces the risk of repeats. Virtual Grid processing is of great benefit to technologists for mobile imaging applications in the emergency room, operating room, and intensive care where positioning a physical grid is most challenging and can disrupt patient comfort. The Virtual Grid is designed for use with Fujifilm DR detectors and the FDX Console workstation.

Fujfilm will also exhibit its mobile DR unit, the FDR Go, designed for smooth and speedy travel with the technologist throughout the hospital. A full-featured system in a compact design, the FDR-Go is built on a solid reliable and one of the world's most quietest and agile mobile x-ray platforms. FDR Go uses FDR D-EVO or FDR D-EVO II digital detectors and offers a full-functionality, easy-to-use workstation designed to facilitate care and simplify mobile exams.
