root9B Awarded Subcontract Supporting Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) Information Innovation Office (I2O)

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Nov. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- root9B, a root9B Technologies Company (OTCQB: RTNB) and a leading provider of advanced cybersecurity services and training for commercial and government clients, announced today that it has been awarded a subcontract from prime contractor Boston Fusion Corp. The contract, sponsored by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), will support the DARPA Information Innovation Office's (ITO) Transparent Computing (TC) Program. The TC Program has an approximate total value of $60 million for multiple awardees. Boston Fusion's contract has a period of performance of up to 4 years.

Under the contract, root9B will provide DARPA with consulting services in the research and development of scenarios for environments involving Advanced Persistent Threats (APT). I2O explores game-changing technologies in the fields of information science and software to anticipate and create rapid shifts in the complex national security landscape. The program will aim to produce basic technologies and an experimental prototype comprising multilayer data collection architecture. It will also produce an analysis/enforcement engine that will enable both proactive enforcement of desirable policies (permissible/impermissible interactions), and near-real-time intrusion detection and forensic analysis.

"We look forward to supporting cutting edge technologies that will ultimately detect and thwart APT activities," said Craig Koroscil, root9B Technical Director. "root9B is committed to working with our partner, Boston Fusion Corp, in the research and development of current and realistic scenarios in order to challenge and validate solutions that make computing systems more transparent."
