Carrier IP Telephony Market Rises in 3Q - Outlook for 2016 Positive, According to Dell'Oro GroupREDWOOD CITY, Calif., Nov. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- A recently published report from Dell'Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the telecommunications, networks, and data center IT industries, found that four of the five product segments making up the Carrier IP Telephony market rose in 3Q on a Y/Y basis. Demand for IMS Core, Voice Application Servers, Session Border Controllers and Media Gateways drove 3Q sales. The outlook for 2016 is also positive with continued growth in adoption of Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi), and SIP Trunking service. "We expect by the start of 2016, there will be twice as many service providers that have begun offering VoLTE as compared to the middle of 2015. Expansion in Europe and Asia have begun in earnest and this is driving significant capital spending on IMS Core, Voice Application Servers and Session Border Controllers," said Chris DePuy, Vice President at Dell'Oro Group. "In the third quarter 2015, oveall industry revenues rose 2% Y/Y. Additionally, since the launch of WiFi calling on the Apple iPhone just over a year ago, service provider spending to support this feature has accelerated," DePuy explained. The report reflects the performance of companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, Broadsoft, Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia, Oracle, Sonus and ZTE.
