Code Fellows Announces One-Day Workshop in Chicago to Help People Explore CodingCode Fellows, the software development trade school that has produced over 500 working professional developers, today announced the launch of a one-day workshop that is intended to give anyone with an interest in coding an inside look at the software development trade and to help them decide if code school is the right path for them. Those attending the 12-hour workshop will discover how websites are built and deployed, and will learn how to code a webpage using industry-standard tools and professional coding practices. The workshop, called "Code 101: Intro to Software Development & Careers in Tech," will take place Saturday, November 21st at 1871 in Chicago. The class size will be limited to 50 students - so as to eplicate a normal Code Fellows class setting. The "Code 301" course takes students beyond HTML, CSS (News - Alert) and JavaScript syntax and teaches students how to launch a web app, collaborate on projects, use advanced frameworks and libraries, and work with basic algorithms and data structures. It also serves as a prerequisite for Code Fellows' "Code 401: Advanced Software Development" course - which prepares students to become professional developers. Since its launch in 2013, Code Fellows has graduated over 500 students from its intensive 10-week program.
