VisTracks Announces Expanded Hardware Support for DOT-Compliant Electronic Logging

VisTracks, the provider of an industry-leading family of IoT and fleet technologies has announced hardware support enhancements to its SnapTraq™ Hours of Service Suite of DOT-compliant tablet and portal managed services. SnapTraq Hours of Service is solely available through VisTracks' partners under the partner's own brand. These enhancements consist of four new Bluetooth SAE1939 CAN Bus devices integrated to support the Hours of Service application and the requirement for Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).

The United States Department of Transportation has issued mandates for fleets to maintain electronic logs to ensure driver compliance to hours of service, rests, vehicle inspections and many other rules. Moreover, many states have issued their own rules for in-state drivers.

The VisTracks service suite is a US Department of Transportation-compliant tablet app and portal which will enable drivers to keep electronic logs of their driving status using DOT nomenclature, be warned of impending violations, provide for pre and post-trip vehicle inspection, and support many state rules as well as federal, including oil field exemptions.

In order to appeal to customers of all sizes and budgets, VisTracks has expanded hardware support for hardware of a wide price range and capabilities. SupportedELD hardware now includes:

  • ELM327.EU ELM 327
  • Vgate ODB Scan
  • BAFX ODBII Diagnostic Interface
  • Viacont Bluetooth 2.1/4.0 LE Adapter
  • Digi Wireless Vehicle Adapter (WVA)
  • CalAmp (News - Alert) LMU-4225 with JPOD connected to its MDT-7 tablet
  • Micronet A317 ruggedized tablet with direct connect to the JPOD

SnapTraq Hours of Service is available in the following product configurations for resale:

  • SnapTraq Hours of Service Silver, a feature-rich tablet application coupled to the ELD, for owner-operators and small fleets
  • SnapTraq Hours of Service Gold which adds a sophisticated and fully synchronized portal for back-office support for larger fleets
  • Add-on services for engine performance, mobile work orders and vehicle tracking

"We are excited to announce enhanced hardware support for our Hours of Service managed services," says Abraham Levine, Chief Operating Officer of VisTracks. "We can now offer tablet and ELD hardware to customers of all sizes and budgets. This expanded list enables even the smallest owner-operator to acquire a sophisticated Hours of Service application without requiring significant financial investment. At the same time, we can offer both hardware and portal services to the largest and most demanding fleet customers."
