AT&T, Communications Workers of America Reach Tentative Agreements In AT&T Southeast Wireline Contract Negotiations


DALLAS, Oct. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* today announced that AT&T southeast wireline operations have reached a tentative agreement with the Communications Workers of America in southeast wireline contract negotiations. Additionally, the Company reached tentative agreements with the CWA on two southeast regional contracts covering AT&T Billing Southeast and Southeast Utility Operations.

The agreements will be submitted to the union's membership for a ratification vote in coming days. They cover about 24,000 employees in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

"Our goal throughout these negotiations has been to work cooperatively with the union to bargain a fair and balanced contract that will allow us to continue to provide excellent union-represented careers with wages and benefits that are among the best in the country, while controlling costs and maintaining the flexibility the company needs to operate in an extremely competitive industry," said Mark Royse, executive vice president-Labor Relations. "This agreement achieves that goal."

Out of respect for the union membership, AT&T will not comment on details of the tentative agreements until they have been presented to them for a vote by their leadership.
