The prestigious BTR Diamond Technology Reviews ("the Diamonds") program recognizes top products and solutions available to the cable industry. This year's submissions were rigorously judged by a third-party panel of cable telecommunications engineering experts, including engineering executives from Bright House Networks, Buckeye CableSystem, Cable One, Comcast, Cox, Suddenlink, and Time Warner Cable. Criteria included unique technology or application thereof, innovation, ease of use, efficiency, reliability, and contribution to profitability.

Jim Spinella, President and CEO of A2Zlogix, responded to news of the award as follows: "Receiving 4 Diamonds in the BTR Technology Reviews is a true honor, considering the caliber of the judging panel. These experts have a first-hand understanding of the complex challenges facing the broadband industry, and we value their opinions most highly." He went on to say "The 4 Diamond rating confirms that our company - from Research to Product Development to Sales and Support - understands the needs of the communications industry in the emerging media landscape and has what it takes to partner with the world's leading content and service providers."

"The review this year was highly competitive, covering a wide range of innovative products. Judges were more than intrigued with ImageIQ® from A2Zlogix, due to its ability to reduce noise while conserving valuable bandwidth," said Tom Gorman, Program Director, Diamond Technology Review Program. He continued by stating, "In particular, the judges noted that ImageIQ®'s powerful pre-processing algorithms significantly improve MPEG encoding efficiency."

BTR staff will be hosting a reception in New Orleans on October 13 to honor high-score recipients and present the 2015 awards.

A2Zlogix ImageIQ® product consists of the ImageIQ® Video Bandwidth Reduction (VBR) and ImageIQ® Image Bandwidth Reduction (IBR) platforms. VBR and IBR are the only video optimization technologies that bring together the entire range of features that content and service providers need in order to meet their operational, business, and end-user goals.

  • VBR, which is proven in IP Video, satellite, LTE (News - Alert) broadcast, and backhaul cases, works for all live-linear and file-based VoD content and produces average bandwidth savings of 25-35% - with no negative impact on visual quality.
  • IBR, which is proven in IPTV (News - Alert), LTE, and ABR broadcast environments, typically produces savings of 25% - with no negative impact on visual quality.
  • Both technologies integrate easily into existing third-party workflows, are codec agnostic, provide enhancements for MPEG2, MPEG4, AVS (News - Alert), VP8, VP9, and are future proof for recent and future codecs such as HEVC and VP10.
  • VBR and IBR enable new revenue by increasing bandwidth availability (e.g., more managed video content services, more channels, 4K delivery, premium audio channels, etc.).
  • VBR and IBR reduce OpEx through bandwidth savings and enable CapEx avoidance by deferring the need for bandwidth upgrades.
