SME Lends Expertise to Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing ForesightsDEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SME, an organization that serves the manufacturing industry by training the workforce and promoting advanced manufacturing technologies, is pleased to be part of the Alliance for Manufacturing Foresight (MForesight). This newly created consortium will be led by the University of Michigan and is funded by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. This group will serve as a technology-focused consortium to provide input on national manufacturing research and development priorities. NIST and the NSF recently announced the selection of the University of Michigan to lead the consortium, and SME will serve on the leadership committee, as well as leverage its member network, including those involved with the North American Manufacturing Research Institution of SME (NAMRI/SME) to help provide responses to inquiries on emerging technologies, opportunities and priorities in manufacturing.
