International Torts Litigation Book Co-Authored by Lieff Cabraser Attorney Mark P. Chalos Re-Released by Thomson Reuters Press

Attorney Mark P. Chalos, Managing Partner of the Nashville office of the national plaintiffs' law firm Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, announces the publication of a book he co-authored, "Litigating International Torts in United States Courts, 2015 ed." The publisher is Thomson (News - Alert) Reuters, which is among the largest legal publishers in the world. Initially published in 2012, the book has been updated and re-released annually.

The book is a practical resource for practitioners and judges involved in lawsuits in U.S. federal and state courts that involve international parties or arise from international conduct. The book provides forms, practice pointers, and legal analysis of the key issues that frequently arise in these cases. The new edition includes new court cases, new forms, and new analysis.

"As the world shrinks, practitioners and judges increasingly face complex international issues in everyday litigation," Chalos said. "The 2015 edition contains updated analysis and forms, with discussions of new developments in case law and statutes."

Some of the key features of the work include:

  • Comprehensive road map for lawyers representing both plaintiffs and defendants, analyzing key cases and the competing lines of reasoning used by the courts.
  • A single source for legal analysis, practice tips, and forms for litigating international tort lawsuits filed in U.S. federal or state courts.
  • Practice forms on CD-ROM drawn from actual litigation which permit an attorney to focus time and resources enforcing their client's rights rather than re-inventing the wheel.
  • Practice tips and extensive forms from expert authors to help you enter this field and litigate with confidence.
  • Practice tips on the tough issues: potential defendants US/foreign; juridiction in US/abroad; forum non conveniens; choice of law; overcoming liability disclaimers, and more.
