General Peter Pace Joins Webroot Board of Directors


BROOMFIELD, Colo., Sept. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Webroot, the market leader in intelligent cybersecurity for endpoints and collective threat intelligence, announced today that retired four-star Marine General Peter Pace has joined the Webroot Board of Directors. His appointment was effective August 21, 2015.

General Pace, 16th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, brings extensive knowledge and cybersecurity expertise to Webroot's Board of Directors, which currently includes technology leaders Stan McKee, former executive vice president and CFO at Electronic Arts Inc.; Quentin P. Gallivan, chairman and chief executive officer of Pentaho; Jake Reynolds, a leader in the venture capital industry; and Webroot's CEO Dick Williams.

General Pace, USMC served as the 16th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff the most senior position in the United States Armed Forces, from October 2005 to October 2007. In his capacity as chairman, he served as advisor to the President, Secretary of Defense, the National Security Council and the Homeland Security Council.  Pace served as the Vice Chairman from 2001 to 2005. He is the first Marine to have served as either Chairman or Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.



During his tenure as chairman, Pace was responsible for providing military advice on U.S. operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. In June, 2008 General Pace was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian award. The President of the United States recognized General Pace for his selfless service and visionary leadership as one of our nation's most respected and admired military officers. Pace graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and received his commission in the Marine Corps in June 1967.  He holds a master's degree in administration from George Washington University.
