2,700-Employee Manufacturer Strengthens Global Insights with UltiPro

Ultimate Software (Nasdaq:ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that Armacell, a world leader in flexible insulation foam for the equipment-insulation market, has rapidly deployed UltiPro® to its employees outside of the U.S. and is now enjoying visibility into global workforce analytics and alignment of HR across the company.

After company expansion and more than a decade of experience as an Ultimate Software customer, Armacell wanted to extend the company's use of UltiPro to include its multinational workforce. Within 16 weeks, the manufacturer had replaced numerous in-country systems with UltiPro, driving efficiencies and shedding light on the company's growing, geographically dispersed workforce. The speed and success of the rollout were acknowledged throughout the company.

"I am so proud of our rapid global rollout of UltiPro," said Keith Norwood, chief human resources officer at Armacell. "We had an aggressive timeframe, because we knew this was an important step for the company. The sooner we had visibility into our global workforce, the sooner HR would be able to give executives and managers insight into our talent, which has a huge impact on our business. My team worked well with Ultimate to meet our goal to roll out UltiPro in 21 locations in four months, and we are getting great feedback from our leadership all over the world."

Norwood's first goal with UltiPro was to give all managers and executives access to a central portal for information on their teams that was accessible regardless of time zone and did not require manual data consolidation. Using UltiPro as its HCM solution of record, the company has trimmed reporting time from days to hours and is ensuring the accuracy of its metrics.

"Previously, if we wanted to compile a global report, it could take 5-10 business days to gather the information, and then more time to validate the data," said Norwood. "By the time the analysis was complete, the report may have become outdated. Now, a global report can take just a few minutes, which is a huge time savings and value add. Plus, with UltiPro, we can be assured that the informatin we need to support business decisions is correct, in real time and, therefore, more meaningful."

With one solution for HCM, Norwood's team has been able to drive consistencies in companywide business processes, aligning many standards and protocols that impact the people and the manufacturer. By unifying Armacell's people-centric processes and information, Norwood believes he and his team can have a greater impact, not only on the company's bottom line but also the culture.

"I think many businesses that have expanded globally over time through acquisition struggle with miscommunication, fundamental differences in processes, and disparities in culture. I really think before we can address those business challenges, HR needs a unified technology platform as a foundation," said Norwood. "UltiPro is improving communication and has increased the cohesiveness of our HR teams around the globe. With UltiPro, our HR leaders are easily able to exchange information, collaborate regarding best practices, and discuss timely issues with one another. The enhanced connection and engagement between our HR team locally and worldwide has been a game-changer for our organization."

"We commend Norwood and his team on a job well done. They identified a need for global visibility into their workforce, took action, and now can benefit from a consolidated, global HR solution to take them into their future," said Greg Swick, chief sales officer at Ultimate Software. "We are pleased to deliver a flexible, global HR solution that businesses like Armacell can deploy rapidly."
