The World Economic Forum selects Data Theorem as a 2015 Technology Pioneer

Data Theorem today announced that it has been named a 2015 Technology Pioneer, a prestigious award from the World Economic Forum honoring the world's most innovative technology start-ups. Data Theorem was selected for its efforts in developing technology that keeps mobile apps secure.

"It is an incredible honor for Data Theorem to be selected as a technology pioneer by the World Economic Forum," said Himanshu Dwivedi, Data Theorem's CEO. "We founded Data Theorem because we realized that a reliable, fast and flexible solution was needed due to the growing problem in app security. It is a privilege to be amongst a group of entrepreneurs who are keenly aware of the crucial challenges of the world around them, and who are determined to do their part to solve those challenges."

Data Theorem is one of 49 selected companies chosen by a professional jury from submissions by hundreds of candidates. As one of the WEF's Technology Pioneers, Data Theorem will have access to the most influential and sought-after business and political network in the world, and included in the World Economic Forum's "Summer Davos" in Dalian, China, this September, as well as the WEF's Annual Meeting in Davos in January 2016.

The head of Technology Pioneers at the World Economic Forum, Fulvia Montresor, noted: "Today's Technology Pioneers want to have their cake and eat it, too. Knowing that the world has pressing challenges, they are following both their entrepreneurial passions and fulfilling their civic roles at the same time."

Data Theorem is the leading provider in mobile app security. The company's Scan & Secure product offering continuously monitor the major application stores (iTunes, Google Play, Microsoft, Amazon and Samsung (News - Alert)) for a customers' mobile app and reforms static, dynamic and applcation logic scans to identify and help remediate security flaws and data privacy gaps. Once issues are identified, the Company's technology generates Objective-C, Java, and C# code that will help lock down the high-risk areas of a customer's mobile application.

As in previous years, American-based entrepreneurs continue to dominate the list of technology pioneers: they account for more than two-thirds of the recipients, followed by the United Kingdom (4), Israel and the Netherlands (2), and individual recipients of Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Sweden and Taiwan, China. France and Spain were among the countries not counting a recipient.

The Technology Pioneers were selected from among hundreds of applicants by a selection committee of 68 academics, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and corporate executives. Notable members of the committee include Arianna Huffington (founder, Huffington Post (News - Alert)) and Henry Blodget (editor-in-chief, Business Insider). The committee based its decisions on criteria including innovation, potential impact, working prototype, viability and leadership.

Past recipients include Google (News - Alert) (2001), Wikimedia (2007), Mozilla (2007), Kickstarter (2011) and Dropbox (2011). More information on past winners can be found here.
