E/V-Band Microwave Equipment Sales Up 30 Percent in Second Quarter 2015, According to Dell'Oro Group

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Aug. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In a recently published report from Dell'Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the telecommunications, networks, and data center IT industries, revenue from shipments of point-to-point microwave transmission equipment in second quarter 2015 did not improve over the year ago period.

However, a bright spark in the microwave market was the continued growth in demand for ultra-high capacity systems that use E-band and V-band radio frequencies to deliver up to 3 gigabit-per-second (Gbps) of link capacity.  Dell'Oro Group reports that ultra-high capacity microwave revenue grew nearly 30 percent year-over-year in the second quarter of 2015, marking the tenth consecutive quarter of such high double-digit percentage growth.
