Ericsson Maintains #1 Revenue Ranking in Wireless Packet Core (WPC) Market, Followed by Huawei, According to Dell'Oro GroupREDWOOD CITY, Calif., Aug. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- A recently published report from Dell'Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the telecommunications, networks, and data center IT industries, announced today that the Wireless Packet Core (WPC) market declined in double digits year-over-year to under $1 Billion in revenues. "Ericsson maintains a narrow revenue lead over its next closest rival, Huawei. Nokia and Cisco are next in 2Q15 revenue ranking," said Chris DePuy, Vice President at Dell'Oro Group with responsibility for Wireless Packet Core coverage. "Foreign currency fluctuations have caused slides in European vendors' US dollar based market share. Market shares of US and Chinese based vendors were not negatively hit in 2Q, but with the recent Chinese revaluation of its currency, it may impact future market share standings for vendors such as Huawei and ZTE. On a sessions-shipped basis, however, the Wireless Packet Core market has experienced a sowdown, due in part, to temporary factors such as new equipment trials stalling demand. Dell'Oro Group's Quarterly Wireless Packet Core Report contains pricing details for each major segment of the market including both Traditional Packet Core and Evolved Packet Core.
