Samsung's new mobile payment option will employ its technology called "Magnetic Secure Transmission" which will allow its mobile payment system to be used on standard credit card machines. This is different from Apple Pay's NFC connectivity.

Even though Samsung's newest phones were released over a month ago, these phones will still support the payment system once it is released. But, not all carriers have agreed to support the service. Verizon Wireless has not yet decided if it will support the system, which means consumers purchasing through Verizon will be left out of the service once it goes live.

According to a report by Packaged Facts, emerging alternative payments are reshaping consumer's purchasing experience. Apple's launch of Apple Pay was one of the first major smart phone options for mobie pay, but other alternatives such as PayPal, Google Wallet and Visa Checkout provide consumers with many different payment options.
