In 2015, the FCC (News - Alert) implemented new rules for wireless E911. The rules mandate mobile operators to provide increased location accuracy of wireless emergency calls. For instance, a new mandate created requires information regarding the caller's height above ground. These new mandates were designed to make E911 information available to emergency responders in a useful, accurate, and timely manner.
