Trax Technologies Continues to Build Momentum - Names Mark Zembal as Senior Vice President of Marketing

Trax Technologies, a leading global provider of cloud-based solutions for buyers and sellers of logistics services focused on improving supply chain performance, today announced the appointment of Mark Zembal as Senior Vice President of Marketing. Zembal's addition emphasizes Trax's commitment to expand awareness and adoption worldwide.

With more than 20 years of marketing and advertising experience on the client and advertising agency side, Mark brings a well-rounded perspective to revenue marketing and a track record of building brands and categories. In his new role, Zembal will be responsible for setting strategy and guiding execution of Trax's marketing function.

In March of this year, Trax received $10 million in capital from Strattam Capital LLC. In the process, Stattam became the majority shareholder, replacing Capital Southwest and River Cities Capital Fund. The most recent infusion is enabling further investments in product development and sales and marketing.

"This role is a critical one for us going forward," said Scott Nelson (News - Alert), founder and CEO of Trax Technologies. "We have evolved to the point that it was vital to add discipline and depth to our marketing capability. Mark's ability to create compelling brand narratives, build highly effective marketing teams and tangibly impact revenues made him an obvious choice."

Most recently, Zembal was Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications at Acxiom (News - Alert) (ACXM), where he helped reposition the comany from a forty year legacy as a giant in offline marketing to a digitally-savvy leader in omni-channel one-to-one marketing at scale. Previously, he worked for high-profile advertising and marketing agencies, including Carmichael Lynch Advertising, Carlson Marketing Group, and Mindspace, which he helped found in 2004. Zembal graduated with honors from The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, with a BA in Marketing.

"In supply chain and logistics, the underlying data has an unusually high inaccuracy rate that penalizes the entire ecosystem to the tune of billions of dollars each year in revenue leakage and opportunity costs," said Zembal. "Trax's domain expertise and cloud-enabled approach to data refinement is solving this massive problem in a way no one else can."

With the most recent infusion of capital and an invigorated Board of Directors, Trax continues to build significant momentum. Trax's global client roster includes six of the top ten life science companies, two of the top five tech companies, one of the top five manufacturing companies, as well as increasing penetration in the automotive, retail/CPG and energy sectors.

Zembal's appointment rounds out Trax's executive leadership team. He will be based in Scottsdale at company headquarters.
