Flipora Raises $1.5 Million To Launch A.I. Based Content Discovery Application On Mobile


SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Flipora, the content discovery application that uses Artificial Intelligence to recommend content to users based on their interests, today announced that it has raised $1.5 million from a list of impressive backers. Gokul Rajaram, creator of Google AdSense, Barney Pell, Founder and CEO of Powerset (an A.I based natural language search engine that was acquired by Microsoft), Munjal Shah, Founder and CEO of Like.com (an A.I. based shopping search engine acquired by Google), Anil Dharni, Co-Founder of Funzio (acquired by mobile gaming giant GREE) and Mayank Bawa (founder & CEO of Big Data pioneer, Aster Data) have all invested in the round.

With this round, Flipora is also launching updated mobile apps for the iPhone and Android smartphones to complement their existing web offering. Flipora connects users around shared interests by utilizing a highly personalized interest graph for each user that is developed and continually updated through Flipora's arificial intelligence algorithm. Flipora users can follow interests, publications and connect with other users receive a highly personalized feed of content recommendations.
