Freescale Named a Winner of the Prestigious UBM Canon's ACE (Annual Creativity in Electronics) Awards in the Marketing Team of the Year Category

Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE: FSL) today announced it has been named a winner in the EE Times and EDN 2015 UBM Canon (News - Alert) ACE Awards in the Marketing Team of the Year category. The awards program honors the people and companies behind the technologies and products that are changing the world of electronics.

The winners were announced at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, July 21, at the Santa Clara Convention Center, during the Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley.

"This has been an incredible year for Freescale (News - Alert) as we broaden our global brand recognition as a leader in embedded innovation for tomorrow's Internet of Things," said John Dixon, Director of Corporate Marketing for Freescale. "This could not have been done without the dedication and creative thinking on the part of our whole marketing team. We are honored to receive this award in recognition of our hard work."

Freescale designs and produces embedded hardware and software for the automotive, networking, industrial and consumer markets with a current emphasis on technology enablement of the Internet of Things, software-defined networking and advanced driver assistance systems. The company has design, research and development, manufacturing and sales operations located across 20 countries, employing 17,000 people worldwide.

Freescale's Corporate Marketing team has been delighting customers and partners with an array of marketing and branding activities including the successful 2014 launch of the Internet of Tomorrow Tour, a semi-truck that showcases Freescale technology and innovation on the go. The Tour has made 75 stops in 46 cities in 16 states across the United States alone. The Internet of Tomorrow Tour has since launched in China, where it has hosted more than 40,000 visitors to date, and plans are underway to bring the Tour to Europe later in the year.

"We are continually amazed at the level of creativity in the design, innovation and technology exemplified by these award winners," said Suzanne Deffree, Executive Editor at UBM Canon's EDN. "The ACE Awards celebrate the highest achievements in innovation and creativity in electronics design, and selecting one organization or individual that stands out above the rest is incredibly challenging. We are pleased to be able to celebrate their achievements."

A panel of EE Times and EDN editors narrowed down the entries to three finalists in each category, based on the criteria set forth in an online submission form. Winners are determined from among the finalists by a panel of independent judges.
