Network Utility Force Acquires Helmsman Technology Group

Network Utility Force, a leading network engineering and professional services company, announced today that it has acquired Atlanta-based, Helmsman Technology Group, a network security and consulting firm, enabling the company to provide a wider range of network security and virtualization services.

"We have seen a significant increase in security compromises over the past year across a variety of industries, which has driven increased network security demands from our customers. This acquisition expands our ability to provide a full suite of network security services, from audits and assessments, to penetration testing, DDoS defense, and remediation, among many other network security aspects," stated Brandon Ross, Co-founder, CEO and Chief Network Architect of Network Utility Force.

The Helmsman Technology Group was founded in 2011 by Timothy Brown, a veteran systems engineer and former team lead for Cisco in the emerging markets theater. Mr. Brown will be joining Network Utility Force as the Director of Security and Virtualization, covering areas including: NFV, OpenStack, network security, and big data. Remaining Helmsman Technology Group staff will also become employees of Network Utility Force.

Tim Brown commented, "Of all the possible financing and M&A routes, I can think of no better fit than being acquired by Network Utility Force. They have a solid approach to delivering high touch, high quality network engineering services with a customer-centered focus - unmatched within the industry, and we are excited to be a part of the team."
