Artprice Multiplies Its Facebook Visibility Ahead of Instant Articles

PARIS, July 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

On 9 July 2015, Artprice, the world leader in Art Market information, signed a publishing agreement with the notorious Museum of Contemporary Art, Musée l'Organe, which manages La Demeure du Chaos, otherwise known as the Abode of Chaos as per The New York Times also the headquarters of Artprice for the past 16 years. The agreement covers an editorial amalgamation of the teams generating news dispatches for Facebook and, of course, the peering of the two Facebook networks in order to finalise the terms of access to Facebook's Instant Articles®.

According to thierry Ehrmann, founder and CEO of Artprice, but also a prodigious sculptor/artist in his own right for the past for 32 years and creator of the Abode of Chaos: " This framework agreement will give the two editorial teams unrivalled firepower to cover art market news and information around the world".

The Museum of Contemporary Art, Musée l'Organe, whose main activity is the management of the Abode of Chaos, is France's most visited private museum of Contemporary art outside Paris.

Founded in 1999, it is France's first museum of Contemporary Art to be officially registered (in 2001) as a commercial enterprise. It is controlled by Artprice's parent company, Server Group.

Known worldwide via more than 2,700 written and audiovisual press reports in 63 countries, each year the Abode of Chaos - in its capacity as an ERP Muséal (Establishment Receiving the Public) - welcomes 120,000 visitors of whom 23% are from outside France. The site covers 97,000 square feet and contains 5,400 artworks and 700 monumental sculptures, some exhibited internationally, all produced by Thierry Ehrmann in his capacity as a creator/sculptor/artist. These works have been documented by the Musée l'Organe in two reasoned catalogues (catalogues raisonnés) and a dozen or so multilingual publications.

The Musée l'Organe's Facebook network has 250,000 members and a global publication reach of 2.7 million readers per week (c.f. Facebook's official administrator table: https://artpressagency.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/ultimator-250-k.jpeg

Every month, the Musée l'Organe Facebook network attracts over 9 million Contemporary art enthusiasts from all over the world with, apart from its own news, over 40 articles per day on Contemporary art and global art market news. Its expertise in the field of museology has already been exported to numerous countries.

On Facebook, Flickr, Vimeo and Google+, the Musée l'Organe publishes proprietary databases (among other elements) with 45,000 high definition photos and videos of the 5,400 works produced on its site. It also posts performance art videos and has been analysing and juxtaposing world events since 1999. Via these databases, the international press is constantly copying images from the Organe Museum of Contemporary Art to illustrate articles on geopolitical, societal, historical and, of course, artistic topics.

In fact, the Musée l'Organe and Server Group has become a veritable de-captioned news agency that brings Artprice a large number of art fans and professionals from all corners of the Contemporary Art world.

For its part, Artprice, via its own Facebook network, has over 259,000 members and 11 million visitors per month.

The complementary and constructive coupling of the two editorial teams and their common access to editorial sources will allow the two world-renowned Facebook networks to benefit from Metcalfe's law, which considers the value of a social network as proportional to the square of the number of its users.

We are therefore looking at an exponential growth path that started in beta-testing in early April 2015, with effective roll-out since early July 2015.

An initial test took place using a K UHD video directed by Thierry Berrod (a highly singular director...) as part of a Arte documentary that is being prepared on La Demeure du Chaos / Abode of Chaos.

The drone's-eye visit of the Musée l'Organe Museum of Contemporary Art crossed the million-views threshold within a couple of days thanks to the coupling of the two Facebook networks, with the 4K UHD drone video being hosted at the core of Artprice's Facebook network. Followers of the Musée l'Organe Museum of Contemporary Art therefore watched this video via the Museum's Facebook network. The viewcount and the Drone video itself are publicly available on Artprice's Facebook page.

This agreement will therefore enable a very real and spectacular growth in the number of readers and the volume of news dispatches relating to the art market (biographies, data, indices, ratings, future art sales, econometrics, etc.) and to global activity in the Contemporary art field which, over the last 10 years, has become the primary locomotive of the global art market, largely driven by an exponential growth of new museums on all five continents.

In fact, the museum industry (700 new museums per year) has become a global economic reality in the 21st century. Between 2000 and 2014, more Museums were built than during the entire nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The appetite of the museum industry is therefore one of the key drivers in the spectacular growth of the Art Market.

As indicated in its reference documents (AMF) since 2012, Artprice is already by far the world's largest global Art Market information network on Facebook. With this agreement, Artprice has permanently consolidated its supremacy on all segments of the Art Market...Old Masters, Modern and Contemporary. The latter is undoubtedly the most complex segment because of its multidisciplinary nature and its unlimited capacity to generate news and information.

This agreement will therefore significantly increase the number of consumers of news flashes containing text, photos and videos via Facebook's Instant Articles ®  where Artprice's presence seems perfectly logical. This new brick in Facebook's edifice is the first phase in the monetization of the Facebook network by internationally renowned publishers such as Artprice, the undisputed world leader in art market information.

We are not alone. The New York Times, BuzzFeed, National Geographic, Atlantic and NBC News will publish articles directly on FB's new platform. In addition to these US publishers, four European groups - The Guardian, BBC News, Bild and Spiegel Online - will contribute to FB's Instant Articles .

With this agreement merging our editorial teams and our Facebook networks, the volume of news articles concerning all three segments of the art market will reach 70 to 90 high quality dispatches per day in several languages, allowing Facebook to open to Artprice a multitude of new timelines and multilingual newsfeeds by peering the two Facebook networks.

No group in the world can ignore Facebook, which according to its latest official figures, now reaches 1.441 billion active members, thanks primarily to mobile Internet. This is precisely where Artprice's clientele is predominantly present via its services and products 100% available in First Mobile.

This agreement also covers the Google+ and Twitter networks for which Artprice maintains a special relationship and contract with Google since 2003.

Moreover, as announced in the minutes of Artprice's AGM published on 30 June 2015, Artprice confirms the launch, on 3 August 2015, of a payment system that took nine months to develop. This system will reduce the time to purchase an Artprice subscription by 300%. It can handle kiosk payments (by the minute) as well as the Apple Store, Facebook's Instant Articles, V. me by Visa. It is also compatible with 4G, and 4G + LTE telecom operator kiosk systems in all countries and on all continents.

Finally, it is worth noting that for several years, in collaboration with the art press team at the Musée l'Organe,  researchers, sociologists, historians and econometricians from Server Group's and Artprice's econometrics & statistics department have been developing a multitude of proprietary algorithms that allow the production of rankings concerning Europe's and the world's cultural players on social networks, notably via the "logarithmic commitment" which Artprice and Server Group owns under intellectual property law (c.f. Artprice's AMF reference document).

These high-performance algorithms allow us to anticipate events with a rare degree of accuracy, a quality that is much appreciated by Art Market professionals. In addition, these algorithms can detect any attempts to fraudulently manipulate and / or unethically influence the social networks by, for example, creating fictitious audiences.
