BIDCO contracts with 2,300 physicians, including nearly 550 primary care physicians and more than 1,750 specialists. During Dr. Parker's tenure, BIDCO ws the highest performing ACO in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and ranked third nationally in the 2013 reporting year. Dr. Parker's medical specialty is internal medicine, practicing within the Beth Israel Deaconess system for 27 years. "We are ecstatic to have Dr. Parker join us here at Arcadia for this very strategic and critical role," said Sean Carroll, Chief Executive Officer, Arcadia Healthcare Solutions. "His background as an experienced medical practitioner, accomplished health system executive, and enthusiastic thinker will be invaluable to the Arcadia team and our clients. His well-deserved reputation as a tenacious diagnostician of system-level issues and a practical problem solver, who has shown real results, is an all-too-rare combination." "Having spent three decades in an industry that is undergoing massive transformations and shifts, I am excited to join Arcadia's experienced team of technologists, clinical practice consultants and strategic leaders to continue driving change in the industry," said Dr. Parker. "Given the recent ruling on King vs. Burwell, its evident that now is the time for providers to more deeply understand the risks, costs and health of the patients they care for. It's no secret that by and large the patients who have exchange-based insurance are generally higher risk and, therefore, costlier than others and its critical for providers to focus on how to attain good quality patient data to understand the real patient risks and subsequently make the correct clinical care choices. In joining Arcadia, I look forward to driving towards an environment where providers are able to deliver valuable and efficient care based on detailed data that capture the full view of individual patients and entire populations." Dr. Parker earned an undergraduate degree from Harvard University, and did his medical training at the Alpert Medical School at Brown University and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College.
