AOptix Named a 2015 "Fierce 15" Winner by FierceWireless

AOptix, a pioneer in ultra-high capacity wireless communications, today announced that it has been named a 2015 "Fierce 15" Winner by FierceWireless (News - Alert). This annual industry award honors the most creative and promising privately held companies in the wireless industry.

"What makes the AOptix 'Intellimax' product so compelling is that it combines free space optics and millimeter wave technology to deliver very high bandwidth with low latency for distances of about 10 kilometers," said Phil Goldstein, editor of FierceWireless. "For mobile operators looking for wireless backhaul solutions that transmit large amounts of data over long distances, AOptix' technology is an intriguing option."

Originally developed for deep space imaging and later further developed in military, the combination of free space optics and millimeter wave frequencies in AOptix' Laser-Radio technology allows the Intellimax family of products to far exceed traditional wireless transport solutions in its capacity, range, and reliability.

"As U.S. operators look to increase capacity in their LTE (News - Alert) networks, AOptix provides a compelling and easy-to-deploy alternative to fier," said Christina Richards, VP of marketing at AOptix. "We are honored to be named a winner of the FierceWireless 'Fierce 15,' and feel this designation among such a select group affirms the potential for Laser-Radio technology as a viable solution to alleviate network strain."
