Rentrak Cross-Platform Entertainment Rankings - July 1, 2015PORTLAND, Ore., July 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rentrak (NASDAQ: RENT), the leader in precisely measuring movies and TV everywhere, today announced the top weekly cross-platform entertainment rankings for July 1, 2015. Universal's "Jurassic World" is the number one movie in the world for the third week in a row with an astonishing worldwide total of $1.238 billion after just three weeks in theaters. Internationally, the box office juggernaut grossed $82.5 million in 66 territories and raised the total to $737.5 million this weekend. Disney/Pixar's "Inside Out" is a fan and critic favorite, drawing raves across the board for its inventive and perfectly executed premise and is becoming a global phenomenon with $266.4 million and counting. In North American action, "Jurassic World" continues to astound as it shattered records, adding another $54.5 million and topping the chart for the third straight week. It crossed the $500 million mark faster than any movie in North American box office history on Sunday after just 17 days at the multiplex. Disney/Pixar's "Inside Out," which got off to a fantastic start last weekend, earned $52.3 million in its second weekend (with a mere 42.4 percent drop), bringing its North American total to $185.1 million. On our digital purchases and rentals chart, 20th Century Fox's "Kingsman: The Secret Service," was crowned again, climbing back into the number one position. Lionsgate's "The DUFF," an American teen comedy movie in its second week of release, which landed at the number two spot. The one notable new release on the charts was the Warner Bros. comedy "Get Hard," starring Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart, which debuted at number six. Warner Bros.' "American Sniper" takes the top spot on both our DVD & Blu-Ray disc sales and rentals charts, while Fox's action-packed "Kingsman: The Secret Service" takes second place on the sales chart with Universal's "Fifty Shades of Grey" grabbing the second spot in rentals. Our Movies on Demand chart is led by Warner Bros.' Liam Neeson action thriller "Run All Night" followed by director Neill Blomkamp's futuristic robot saga "Chappie" from Sony and teen comedy "The DUFF" from Lionsgate. ABC's coverage of the "2015 NBA Finals" is number one on our top viewer engagement for broadcast telecasts chart followed by Telemundo's "El Senor de los Cielos" and "Caso cerado – Edicion especial" in second and third place respectively. TNT's "Major Crimes" leads our top viewer engagement for broadcast telecasts chart followed by VH1's "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" and ABC Family's "Pretty Little Liars." On our combined social media and digital engagement chart for viewers of broadcast and cable telecasts, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" had "Game of Thrones" star Kit Harington and a few fans doing impressions of his character Jon Snow.
