WiTricity Appoints Two Tech Industry Veterans to Drive Wireless Charging Product Commercialization


WiTricity, the pioneer in wireless power transfer over distance, today announced two strategic additions to its senior leadership team: Ara Nazarian, senior vice president of engineering, and Sanjay Gupta, vice president of product management. The two are responsible for helping drive the company's product and engineering efforts while accelerating the commercialization of solutions based on WiTricity's foundational wireless power transfer technology that enables charging over distance.

WiTricity is attracting the technology industry's top talent as the wireless power market continues to heat up. With a growing list of licensees, WiTricity is poised to catalyze the commercialization of its wireless charging solutions. Nazarian and Gupta are tasked with helping existing and prospective licensees optimize their product development processes and go-to-market strategies through an expanding library of reference designs, and continued research and development of WiTricity's ground-breaking technology.

Nazarian is recognized for successfully developing and delivering high volume products in semiconductors, hardware systems, and software platforms. Prior to WiTricity, he held executive engineering positions at Broadcom, and Western Digital (News - Alert). He also co-founded two start-up companies, Versifi and Peripheral Tchnologies. Nazarian has deep experience growing and leading engineering teams and delivering high volume production for mobile cellular Systems on Chips (SoCs), set-top box SoCs, modems, hard disk drives, power management devices and software products. He has authored a technical leadership book titled "Technical Minds," and holds more than 20 U.S. patents. Nazarian has BSEE and MSEE degrees from California State University, Los Angeles.



Gupta is an entrepreneurial technology executive with a proven track record of conceptualizing, building and delivering innovative solutions and products. He most recently served as vice president of product development at a startup where he was responsible for all aspects of product and technology development. Before that, he was vice president of product management and development at Motorola (News - Alert), where he led the commercialization of innovative consumer electronics products for wearable and mobile devices and accessories markets. Gupta holds more than 15 patents and has more than 40 publications in archival journals and leading academic conferences. He received his Ph.D. in Systems and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and received his B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
