Pica8 Rolls Out Missing Link for Service Providers at the Customer EdgePica8®, Inc., the one-stop source for white box networking, today announced that it is the first to support Edge-Core's Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) 48-port white box bare metal switch. This is another milestone in Pica8's strategy to address the service provider market. For the past six months, Pica8 has been working with a variety of service provider customers, including Telcos, cloud providers, and regional ISPs, to introduce features and products that enable these providers to introduce a wider variety of services to their end customers with a focus on OpEx reduction. Switches that support PoE are essential for offering on-premise services such as VoIP and Wi-Fi.
