Vyopta Enhances Video Collaboration with the Release of Real Time Video Call Quality Monitoring

Vyopta Incorporated, the industry leader in video and web collaboration analytics, announced today that it will unveil the expansion of its vAnalytics™ product to include multi-vendor, real-time video-call monitoring and alerts at InfoComm15 on June 17. With Vyopta's expanded vAnalytics product, enterprises can resolve video-call quality issues faster and improve the overall video-meeting user experience.

"Users expect video calls to be as good, if not better, than an in-person meeting," said Ivan Montoya, vice president of marketing and business development for Vyopta. "Tracking call-quality metrics in real time will be critical to improving the user experience as video meetings are becoming more mainstream in large organizations."

With the expansion of Vyopta's vAnalytics product, IT teams now have a tool that will save time when resolving video-call problems and help them reach video-meeting quality goals. Key features and benefits of the new release include:

  • Multi-vendor, video-call quality monitoring. vAnalytics pulls call-qualit data from major video collaboration infrastructure vendors including Cisco (News - Alert) MCUs, Cisco TPS, Cisco video endpoints, Acano CoSpaces, Pexip VMRs and more as the tool's capabilities continually expand. Vyopta integrates all of this data into a single interface that allows IT teams to easily identify issues and alerts for poor quality calls.
  • Track the most important video-call and meeting quality metrics in real time. For each component of every video meeting, Vyopta shows key quality metrics including jitter, packet loss, frame rate, bandwidth and resolution for both the transmission and reception of every audio, video and presentation channel.
  • Faster call-quality troubleshooting. vAnalytics allows IT teams to diagnose call-quality problems while a video call is happening, enabling faster issue identification and resolution. IT teams can look at the quality levels of each user in a video meeting and see their recent history to understand if a problem was a common issue or an irregularity. Even if a problem is reported hours after a meeting occurs, vAnalytics stores call-quality data to allow IT teams to go back in time and determine what went wrong and what steps can be taken to make improvements moving forward.
  • Proactively monitor call quality with configurable alerts. In the near future, vAnalytics' real-time alerts feature will also support call-quality alerts so that IT teams can spot video meeting issues before end users report problems. IT teams will then be able to take proactive steps to address root causes and avoid future call-quality problems altogether.

"At Vyopta, we design our products by measuring issues from the perspective of the person in the video meeting and the IT team that is making the video-call experience a great one for all employees in their organization," said Rick Leung, CTO of Vyopta. "With our Real Time Call Quality monitoring, we can gather all the relevant data on a video call into a single dashboard, let the IT team know if there is a problem and give them the tools to make better decisions faster to improve the video-meeting experience."
