Be Environmentally Conscious: Registration is Now Open for the Clean Tech Open Israel

TEL AVIV, Israel, June 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

CleanTech Open is a Silicon Valley based non-profit organization which operates the world's largest accelerator for clean-tech start-ups. Israel's contributions to clean technology make it an ideal population to target for competitions like the CleanTech Open Global Ideas Competition.

Alumni of CleanTech Open have gained worldwide exposure through their remarkable achievements. In 2013, Israel won second place for its innovation called "GreenSpense." In the area of Chemicals & Advanced Materials, GreenSpense developed a propellant-free continuous dispensing technology that replaces aerosols, and in turn, eliminates gas from these containers, enabling reduced costs and eco-friendly packaging.

Last year AutoAgronom, the Israeli competition winner won the worldwide competition. AutoAgronom developed a new sustainable precision agriculture solution that allows growers to save up to 50% of their water, 70% of their fertilizer and increases the yield up to 30%. This technology provides the plants with the optimal growth conditions at all times throughout the growing cycle.

This year the competition in Israel will begin with registration, opening on June 7 and closing on July 19. After registration closes, a thorough judging process culminates in the national finale on September 9, 2015. The event will be held at Tel Aviv University Porter School of Environmental Studies for an audience of entrepreneurs, managers, investors, researchers, and government representatives. The winner will go on to compete in the global competition in November, held in San Jose, California. Last year, 28 teams from all over the world were represented in the finals.
