Navis and Kalmar Introduce OneTerminal, the Industry's First Integrated Offering for Automated Terminals

Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation, and provider of operational technologies that unlock greater performance and efficiency for the world's leading terminal operators, and Kalmar, today introduced Kalmar OneTerminal at TOC Europe. Kalmar OneTerminal is an integrated automation solution for the container terminal industry consisting of Kalmar and Navis software, equipment and services. Developed out of years of experience, OneTerminal is the industry's first integrated offering under one roof, combining software systems, equipment and services both during project implementation and after the go-live.

With the introduction of OneTerminal, Navis customers now have an additional choice. They can continue to use Navis N4 with the equipment of their choice or now, they can buy a pre-integrated equipment-TOS solution with OneTerminal.

With one key contact and one core team, OneTerminal makes automation accessible, mitigates the risks involved and helps customers realize the full potential of their terminal operations.

"We believe that the port industry is at the start of the next big wave of automation. Kalmar and Navis as global technology leaders in the field are strongly contributing to this transformation and addressing the challenges the industry is facing. Our answer is Kalmar OneTerminal which focuses on providing the seamless integration of the technologies which enable fully automated terinal operations," says Frank Kho, Vice President, Offering Development at Kalmar.

"OneTerminal is an integrated offering and an approach by which Kalmar and Navis experience and expertise are applied in partnership with the terminal to help reach its potential. Whether building a Greenfield terminal from the ground up, or converting an existing facility to a state-of-the-art operation, OneTerminal ensures that all automation systems work together optimally," continues Andy Barrons, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Navis.

Kalmar OneTerminal offers initial concepts for automatic stacking crane (ASC (News - Alert)), AutoStrad and AutoRTG terminals based on the unique integrated combination of Navis N4 terminal operating system (TOS) and Kalmar's terminal logistic system TLS. A OneTerminal project will cover the automation of the container handling equipment, the control systems with Kalmar TLS software, the Navis N4 TOS, as well as project services that will support the terminal through the design and implementation phases. Kalmar Care support and maintenance services ensure optimum performance throughout the entire lifecycle of the solution.

Navis and Kalmar are exhibiting at the TOC Europe exhibition in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, during 9-11 June. Visit Kalmar at stand B40 and Navis at stand B56 for more information.
