Spring Marketplace Announces Continued Growth with Addition of Digital Marketing and Business Development Veterans

Spring Marketplace, Inc., the only platform that connects real time payment data and in-store sales, announced today the expansion of its leadership team with the addition of three industry veterans. Jason Pope will serve as Senior Director, Digital Marketing, Andrew Thackray as Vice President of Business Development and Sara Adler as Senior Director of Partnerships.

Spring connects digital marketing with in-store sales - where 90 percent of commerce occurs - and real-time payment data, unlocking a structural "last mile" gap in the more than $100 billion marketplace of digital marketing.

"As Spring's client base has continued to grow, so has our team and we're thrilled to have Jason, Andrew and Sara on board," said Bruce Mitchell, CEO. "Their direct experience working with leading national brands will allow us to accelerate our growth as we expand our base of more than 1,000 merchants nationwide."

  • Jason Pope has more than 15 years of experience working in digital marketing, product development and helping to build start-ups and early stage companies. From 2009 to 2015, Jason served in leadership positions at VivaKi, ultimately building the programmatic mobile channel enabling Publicis Groupe agencies and their clients to effectively reach and understand mobile audiences. Prior to that he was part of the team that helped build Performics, a pioneer in affiliate and search marketing, which saw successful acquisitions by DoubleClick, Google (News - Alert) and Publicis Groupe.
  • Andrew Thackray brings over 20 years of experience in sales, strategy and operations, introducing new products to market in both start-up and corporate environments. He comes to Spring after serving as head of sales at the location data management platform Placeable. Andrew ran the national sales team at card-linked offers pioneer edo, and launched mobile platforms at both Nokia (News - Alert) and Tribune Interactive. Prior to his move into technology and advertising, Andrew spent 10 years in management and strategy consulting with Booz Allen, Arthur Andersen and Aon.
  • Sara Adler most recently served as the Director of Client Services at edo Interactive where she managed 40 plus national accounts. Over the past ten years, Sara has worked for a variety of agencies in strategic digital roles managing performance and brand awareness programs for major national brands.

Jason, Andrew and Sara join a team led by Bruce Mitchell, Spring Co-Founder and CEO who founded Apartments.com and led new vertical development at Groupon, and Jonathan Dyke, Spring Co-Founder and COO who co-founded edo Interactive and was instrumental in defining the concept of using payments data to track marketing events to in-store sales.

The Spring platform is immediately available to national and local merchants who want to grow revenue through performance-based marketing. Merchants simply opt-in to Spring and can immediately start running promotions - with no change to equipment or operations - increasing consumer visits and spend per visit. For example, a national merchant can run a digital ad or social campaign where a consumer claims the offer and then shops in-store. The merchant has the ability to see the full lifecycle of the consumer from digital presentation to in-store purchase and ongoing, repeat in-store purchases.

Consumers become members through a simple one-time step of enrolling the payment card they already use everyday. Consumers are messaged in real-time via email, SMS and mobile app with available offers and again upon redemption of an offer creating a very high level of engagement.
