JA Worldwide Announces New CEO, Asheesh Advani


JA Worldwide today announced that it has chosen Asheesh Advani as its next CEO. Advani has extensive experience as a successful entrepreneur in the technology and financial services sectors. In addition, he brings years of non-profit leadership to the organization, which provides workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy programs to youth around the world through innovative, experiential programs.

Advani's career includes his recent role as CEO of Covestor, an online investment management marketplace, which was acquired by Interactive Brokers. Previously, he was vice president and general manager at Thomson Reuters (News - Alert), a consultant with the World Bank Group, and founder and CEO of CircleLending, which was acquired by the Virgin Group. He has also served on many non-profit boards, including Young Presidents Organization and the Corporation for Enterprise Development.

JA Worldwide conducted an exhaustive search, boh internally and outside the organization, along with the help of executive search firm Korn Ferry. Effective in July, Advani will succeed Sean Rush, who has served as CEO of JA Worldwide since 2008. Under his leadership, JA Worldwide expanded its strategic focus to include global youth unemployment and increased its missional impact by involving more than 450,000 volunteers around the world in educating and challenging more than 10.6 million young people to transform their futures and ensure their own economic success.
