Molex Reinforces Its Commitment to Delivering Completely Integrated RF/Microwave Solutions

Molex Incorporated brings its innovative and diverse suite of RF/Microwave connectors and cable assemblies to the IEEE (News - Alert) 2015 International Microwave Symposium (IMS), May 19 - 21, The Phoenix Convention Center, booth 2226. The company is dedicated to expanding its offerings, as evidenced by the recent acquisition of SDP Telecom, a designer and manufacturer of RF/Microwave ferrite devices and subsystems for the wireless communications market. With a growing portfolio of highly technical products, Molex (News - Alert) delivers integrated RF/Microwave solutions for multiple industries including aerospace and defense, automotive, medical, instrumentation, telecom and wireless.

"We are constantly looking for ways to bring the best possible solutions to our customers, whatever industry they may be in," said Darren Schauer, product manager, Molex. "Whether through acquisitions such as SDP Telecom and Temp-Flex®, or through our own commitment to developing new and cutting edge technology, we focus on delivering high performance, design flexibility and excellent value."

Some of the products on display at IMS include:

  • Customized RF/Microwave Connectors: Tailored to specific applications, these connectors provide design flexibility to OEMs and include solutions such as multi-port RF products, IP rated, sealed RF products, solderless PCB attachment, non-magnetic connectors and a wide range of cable assemblies and unique adapters, all available in 50 or 75 Ohm impedance.
  • RF DIN 1.0/2.3 Modular Backplane System: Allows designers to consolidate space and improve system routing of RFsignals for board-to-board communications. The high-performance system delivers port expansion capability up to 10 ports and 75 Ohm impedance, with 1.00mm axial tolerance for superior orthogonal mating flexibility in a wide range of video and broadcast applications.
  • Temp-Flex® Low Loss Flexible Microwave Coaxial Cables: Featuring either a solid core or monofilament dielectric for faster signal speed (70% and 85 to 88% Velocity of propagation respectively) and improved electrical performance in high-bandwidth applications, these cables are designed for use in harsh environments. The low and ultra-low loss microwave coax cables offer phase stability under dynamic conditions, tight impedance tolerances and bandwidth potential up to 110 GHz.
  • SDP Telecom Isolators, Circulators and Couplers: Offering low cost, extreme performance alternatives in over 3,000 variants, SDP Telecom customizes its solutions to match the mechanical, thermal, and electrical needs of its customers.
  • SDP Telecom Subsystems for DAS and IBS: A distributed antenna systems (DAS) is a network of antennas and RF distribution networks placed throughout a building to provide indoor coverage. SDP Telecom's components and subsystems help improve this coverage by delivering the highest level of performance, reliability and flexibility to meet the needs of current and future wireless communication generations.

In addition, Molex offers standard, off-the-shelf, high performance assemblies using Temp-Flex low-loss and ultra-low loss cables. For more information about RF/Microwave solutions from Molex, please visit www.molex.com/link/rfmicrowavecoax.html.
