ACT-IAC Voyagers Announces 2015 Graduating Class

The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), the premier public-private partnership dedicated to improving government through the application of information technology, today announced the successful completion of the Voyagers Program by the 11th graduating class in program history. The Voyagers Program prepares mid-level managers with high potential for future advancement for their roles in industry and government. Each program participant must be nominated by his or her respective company or agency and be selected for the program by a panel of senior executives from government and industry.

This highly competitive leadership development program has a one-to-one ratio of government to industry participants, allowing for collaboration and understanding between the two groups. The 2015 Voyagers graduates completed the program at the 35th Annual Management of Change (MOC) training and education event held in Cambridge, Md.

"ACT-IAC's (News - Alert) Voyagers Program is a multi-dimensional leadership curriculum utilizing a unique approach of pairing government and industry colleagues together to work collaboratively toward common goals and solutions," said Jolene Merkel, 2015 Voyagers Government Chair. "The 'Rising Stars' of the Voyagers Class of 2015 formed very strong bonds during the program. This is their first step toward building a foundation to a highly productive executive career; the next will be the relationships and knowledge sharing they will experience as ACT-IAC Fellows."

The participants undergo a nine-month program that provides a facilitated and trusted partnership between government and industry. After successfully completing the Voyagers Program, graduates receive Continuing Education Units and will continue their executive development as members of the ACT-IAC Fellows community - a trusted, collaborative network made up of more than 750 government and industry executives who have graduated from ACT-IAC's distinguished professional development programs.

"The ACT-IAC Voyagers Program is known to highlight rising stars in our industry. This year's class exemplified that criteria. Our new graduates represent a group of future leaders with the experience and determination to focus on their career development goas. These individuals have demonstrated their willingness to think outside the box and be proactive thought leaders in our community, traits that resonate strongly in our current 'do more with less' environment," said Naveen Krishnamurthy, 2015 Voyagers Industry Chair.
