IFG Companies Announces Sophia J. Decouto Joins as Vice President - Property


IFG Companies (www.ifgcompanies.com) has announced that Sophia J. DeCouto ([email protected]) has joined as Vice President and Head of the Primary Property Unit within its Brokerage Property Division. Sophia comes to IFG Companies with a wealth of excess and surplus lines property underwriting experience spanning primary property, shared and layered property and national accounts property. Sophia, who is based in IFG Companies' Atlanta office, will be looking to strengthen and expand IFG Companies' Primary Property Unit with a highly disciplined underwriting approach centered upon profitable growth.

Prior to joining IFG, Sophia was a Vice President - Property with Axis (News - Alert) Insurance Company. Before that, she served in increasingly senior property underwriting positions over almost a decade with Allied World Assurance Company. Sophia began her career in insurance as an Insurance Brokering Assistant with Freisenbruch-Meyer Insurance Services Limited in Bermuda.

Sophia holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
